A person needs not
know all of these in order to believe in Jesus for eternal
life, but most people will need to
know at least a few of them before they are ready to believe in Jesus.
And if in the end, my beliefs are in fact fantasy, then
at least I was kind to those I

know, and I
lived happy being faithful and positive.
The man who chooses to
live in our destiny can neither

Um,
no... «we» have NOT been «given» the bible as a manual for how to
live,
at least not all of us.
Although statistics vary, and probably no one
knows the exact number of runaway and homeless youth in the USA who are
living in the streets, alleys, canyons, beaches, parks, under bridges and any other place they can find, almost everyone agrees there are
at least one million homeless and runaway kids in our country.
So each one of us, even the
least important, can add as he or she speaks of the church and its faith, experto crede, «believe one who
knows» — one who may not
know much, to be sure, but who
at any rate has found that
life grows continually more meaningful, richer, more integrated in the things that really matter, more adequately adjusted to the divine reality called God, and more sensitive to others who are met each day.
No doubt it is true, scientifically speaking, that
no distinct center of superhuman consciousness has yet appeared on earth (

living world) for which it may be claimed or predicted that one day it will exercise a centralizing function, in relation to associated human thought, similar to the role of the individual «I» in relation to the cells of the brain.
No longer needing to worry about
living to please some God whose standards are impossible to meet is, I find,
at least, tremendously freeing.
