Making kids take fruit / veg is no doubt a contributor to
food waste, but letting them skip it every single day, as was often the case before the HHFKA, teaches kids that those
foods are not necessary parts of a meal when, in fact, we know we should be filling
at least half of our plates with those
foods.

least, Reinhardt hopes the planners will consider biogas, fuel material from
food waste and wastewater treatment plants, for combustion instead of the natural gas.

Although post-consumer kitchen
food scraps represent only a small portion of the overall amount of
food waste, 95 % of it is currently being sent to landfills, so being able to convert that into a usable resource
at home, or
at the very
least, in your neighborhood, seems to be a step in the right direction.
The concern about altering surivial
food crops is, to me, a concern similar to the fear that disposal of nuclear
waste will threaten humans for ten thousand years,
at the
least.
