charter schools continues to lag
behind that of traditional
public schools in many cities by an average of $ 5,721 per student, according to a new report from researchers
at the University of Arkansas.
K12 was a major supporter of the effort, donating
at least $ 300,000 in 2012 to «Families for Better

The bottom line, however, is that there are far too few seats in high - quality
charter schools to serve every disadvantaged child in Washington, and those left
behind at neighborhood
public schools continue to be shortchanged.
Charters currently educate more than 600,000 students
at 3,000 of the nation's 88,000
public schools; they have grown tremendously over the past decade and appear likely to grow even more as No Child Left
Behind identifies thousands of
schools across the country for possible closure because of poor test scores.
