authors can send interested customers to the
page and have Createspace handle the

IndependentPublisher.com, for example, published a white paper devoted almost entirely to using the finalist or winner status on the book's cover, on the book's online
sales pages, and even in press releases, if the
author is connected to enough news outlets to send the announcement.
And while much of this might seem like nothing more than petty playground behavior between children who honestly do not have a clear good guy or bad guy, keep in mind that several ebook retailers incorporate the Goodreads» API into their
sales pages, effectively posting book reviews that many in the Goodreads community knew to be false, and nothing more than an act of revenge against an

page) is an art and a science — most
authors are very bad about summarizing their story into an attention grabbing, intrigue building lead - in (without giving too much away).
Once your title has gone live, go back to your
Author Central
page, link your e-book there, and then go tweet and facebook and blog that you have something for
sale.
To list yourself as the
author of the book, put in your first and last name as you want them to appear on the book's
sale page.
I've met a number of
authors who have jumped into this hastily, without researching the options, with ill - prepared manuscripts, indifferent editing, poor covers, lousy promo copy on their Amazon
page, no advance reviews, no marketing plan, no blog or website in place, no Facebook or Twitter presence... and, not surprisingly, they've seen no
sales.
You can also feature a QR code or a link to your

sales page where your book can be purchased.

Amazon and other bookselling companies allow
authors to setup their own
pages, but tend to only promote books that that are for
sale on their particular ecosystem.
There has been some speculation that these steps have only been taken because Amazon has been providing this information to
authors, and not only the

sales through Kindle Direct Publishing's reports
pages.
Each participating
author brings more readers to the
sale page, and these readers then go on to discover the books of other great Smashwords
authors.
