I love strawberry milk, but since telling myself I'd
avoid processed foods, I haven't even looked
at those bright red bottles of strawberry syrup
at the grocery store.
This is probably a little more in the «
processed food» territory which I often try to
avoid on the 7 Day Slim Down, but I was in a pinch and it was all I had
at my desk!

food industry has countered people's attempt
at avoiding high glycemic items by offering highly
processed, artificial low glycemic packaged
foods (often found in so - called health
food stores).
Also, trans - fats like those found in
processed foods should be
avoided at all costs.
As yeast has a very high protein content, and as high temperatures will make AGEs in high protein
foods (and I hate to think how high temperatures might chemically modify the RNA / DNA also present), I
avoid using yeast
processed at high temperatures.
The tragic reality, of course, is that 95 percent of the
food that most Americans eat is
processed — and
processed food is where all this trans fat lies — and the cyclic aldehydes, and the acrylamide, and the genetically engineered ingredients, and the pesticides... So, if you want to protect your health, particularly your heart, brain, and gut, you need to
avoid as many
processed foods (including most restaurant
food) as much as possible, and start cooking
at home, using fresh, whole, unadulterated ingredients.
At the same time,

I believe the best recommendation
at this point is to
avoid both animal products and

foods with labels).
I don't really exclude much, apart from trying to
avoid processed foods, limiting dairy during allergy season and trying not to drink much alcohol in season (got ta
at least try, right?)
Like many, once our family started on our real
food journey, one of the first changes we made was to
avoid heavily
processed sugar, which most certainly included the heavily - refined sugars
at the store — and brown sugar among them.
And while
at it,
avoid processed foods with too many artificial additives.
There are SOME health «rules» I believe apply to everyone, such as:
AVOID or
at least LIMIT
processed food, sugar, fake sugars, alcohol,
processed meats, ultra-
processed fats / oils particularly vegetable oil and trans fats.
Avoid processed foods —
at all cost — to reduce your toxic burden.
I try to
avoid processed food and try to cook as many meals
at home.
Be keen to
avoid almost all
processed foods, especially
at night.
It is a bit perplexing that Jewish people driven to uphold Kosher - for - Passover standards and being very diligent about
avoiding whole
food chametz are
at the same time consuming, unconsciously, Kosher - for - Passover
processed junk
foods.
These tips include making positive changes to your lifestyle one day
at a time, eating more fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains,
avoiding processed foods, reading labels and planning what you are going to eat
at home, in restaurants and
at work.
Remember, not only are you using real
food to make your pizza crust
at home, but you are
avoiding the toxic packaging that the
processed pizza crusts come in.
At the very least, try to reduce sugar intake by
avoiding processed foods, eating whole grains, and eating only natural sources of sugar such as fruit.
