It has become increasing more helpful since I discovered
baby T wakes up early due to wet nappy and won'
t go back to
sleep or
sleep for long if his nappies are wet.
We got very little
sleep,
baby T spent the first week in either my mum's arms or mine.
It became more apparent that
Baby T liked having more room so when I attached the snuzpod to my side of the bed, his
sleep improved.
Baby T had reflux and it would have been handy to have to minimize
sleep disruptions and choking episodes.
For instance, when you want to leave your
baby alone for the first time, leave a
t - shirt or
sleeping gown that you have worn on the pillow.
Of course everyone has an opinion on
babies and
sleep - you'll be told you're spoiling the child, not to rock it to
sleep, to co-
sleep or not to co-
sleep, to put
baby to bed earlier / later / offer a dream feed / don'
t offer a dream feed.
I did not want to send them with
T - shirts and personal items, it would be weird, so I bought the
baby blankets and left them on the sofas so they could
sleep on them.
by getting pregnant again:P lol but they have both had their own beds for more then 2 yrs available to them, and they had many times
slept in them... But I am currently thinking of getting a bigger bed so when my 5.5 mth old is a bit bigger the boys can come in with us again if they want (on occasion I wake up to find one or the other in bed with me and the
baby and I love it;) I know it might sound like I have taken on a lot to keep them all with me for so long, but in reality the time has went by far too fast, and the memories of those nights I love and cherish them now... what works for me might not work for others, I have heard of so many safe and wonderful co-sleeping (or sharing) ways that family's have came up with, what works for some wont work for others, so it is best to look into it to find the best way that works for your family:) drmamma.org has some wonderful tips and suggestions... if you want

t hungry, I would try to get him to
sleep some more (see waking early from naps / won'
t fall asleep for naps).
From birth with our 9 month
baby we have followed
baby-wise and she has followed the
sleeping examples to a
T!
Layette:
Baby washcloths (4 - 6) Bodysuits (4 - 6) Caps (1 or 2) Gowns /
sleep sacks (3 - 5) Hooded towel (1 or 2) Long pants (4 - 5 pairs) Socks or booties (4 - 6 pairs) Sweater (at least 1)
T - shirts (4 - 6, short - and long - sleeve)
It is also reasonable for a
baby this age to take one long 6
t 8 hour
sleep stretch in the middle of the night.
If it isn'
t quite that hot, around 20 - 23 degrees, a short sleeved
baby grow or
t - shirt pyjamas would be the best and a light 1 tog
sleeping bag.
t had been a week of waking up every two hours to feed two tiny
babies, which in twin world equates to 1 - 2 hours
sleep a night.
He was never in creche / nursery if he had been we would either of stopped him as soon as maternity leave started or more likely so I could have some time 1:1 with
T left him in but reduce his hours giving him a break, keeping some normality and giving you a break as well to
sleep when the
baby sleeps as well.
This should help reduce or eliminate nighttime awakenings, and all
babies should be
sleeping through the night a
t this point.
