play box to box or CAM can tackle put his body in the game, score goals from many angles and above all Cesc is an arsenal graduate we all remember how Cesc made our
midfield so dominant in many games, we remember how he was during our
barca game till he got injured lets not forget le capitan.

Seeing how
barca play a classic 4 -3-3, I can only assume he will
play as a winger and not in the
midfield 3 but I'm just speculating
Rotate him and the Coq and
play them together if you want to boss / nullify the
midfield against the big boys who have a potent strike force (I.e
Barca).

OK since we are back to being positive minded cules, I must say I for one am in complete support of valverde, The man has players like paulinho, denis, rakitic, etc in fact almost all the players bar lamasia players and few signings are suited to the direct style of
play where
midfielders are by Stander's, paulinho is useless in possession he is perfect for wreaking havoc but not good to
play in a
Barca midfield.
We may have been raped in the SF, You all forget what was, said since last season, everyone agreed the
midfield was poor, and the summer didn't help and we braced our selves for the worst, now we have made history perhaps with poor football but the problems never left, some people say «we lost to fucking Roma» I doubt you all understand what it means to have the players you need and want, eusebio di Francesco has what is needed to
play HIS football, lucho signed poor
midfielders BUT they were required for his FOOTBALL not in any way the
Barca way (he
played attacking and entertaining but it's sad to see no one wanted to acknowledge that those signings weren't right, He got figured out and left like a man with BALLS Valverde restored positional
play and brought emphasis to the
midfield but he lacks the MF to do it.

A 4 -3-3 system is favoured by
Barca, Real Madrid and Man City and Bayern, the top four teams in Europe. It suits the attacking philosophy of Arsene Wenger which is to his credit.Unfortunately we do not have the top quality defenders these teams have nor a dominant DM.Nevertheless it is the best system for our current team which is top heavy in attacking
midfielders hence the need to
play Ozil and Mik in wide positions. In my opinion the most balanced central
midfield would consist of Elneny, Ramsay and Wilshere.Elneny was first class against Watford yet was left out against an average Milan side to accommodate the ever present Xhaka who will no doubt feature against CSK.

Keeping Giroud on this squad with the promise of substantial
playing time... the offensive tactics of this squad is way too indirect and is much more reflective of a hold up
play / cross in the box scheme that suits Giroud's skill - sets but can't continue if Wenger really wants Lacazette to be successful... without Sanchez on the pitch this offence is a little bit like a headless chicken, passing sideways, providing relatively poor service to undersized players and sub-par finishing... this isn't to suggest that Arsenal can't perform without Alexis but this offensive scheme is antiquated and ill - advised, especially considering our personnel (poor man's
Barca)... if Arsenal doesn't want to pay the price to get topnotch players so we can press high and
play all out attack, we would be better served by adopting a counterattack approach... unfortunately that would mean developing a far less skittish defensive group that could withstand the pressure and we all know that Wenger hasn't opted for that approach considering our defensive pickups in recent years and the lack of a «boss» in the
midfield
