As for our possible formations, I feel as though if we play a 3 -5-2 with Giroud and Sanchez up top, we could play
bellerin as a wingback with 3 centerbacks.
Defense is bad but when you have Kolasinac and
Bellerin as wingbacks and you have given them license to join attack every other time, the three CBs are also invited to attack and so is Xhaka and Wilshere.
If he wanted to (stupidly) stick with 3 at the back, put Monreal - Kos - Mustafi, and then Kolasinac and
Bellerin as wingbacks.

Bellerin as wingback.

as a defensive winger.Whether the Ox likes it or not he's been blessed with the qualities of a winger.To me that's his best position.He's only doing well
as a
wingback because of his attacking abilities.

as RB or LB can not play
wingback.
Wingback needs the player to be able to adapt himself like a winger while also being solid defensively.Ox has the attacking part but not the defensive part.With
Bellerin we have the best of both worlds.He can attack, defend and also has the speed necessary to play
wingback.I fear Ox being played at
wingback will cost us when we play teams with tricky wingers.He should rather be challenging Sanchez or Ozil for their positions and not
wingback.The guy hates to always have to defend which in truth he can't.
I would chose Ox
as wingback over
Bellerin.
So Xhaka has to use his range passing and be held back, and Mkhi has to be used
as link playing more inside, while
Bellerin can be
wingback, who has to more defensive.

Bellerin has huge potential to be
as good
as Dani Alves, but he played like headless chicken
wingback in the last season (still very quick, but released useless crosses without thinking to feint or cut in first).

wingback assuming them to almost be the same.A

Our 3 back is just so wrong.We don't have natural
wingbacks even in this formation.It also seems to me that lots of people here believe if you're good at right or left fullback then automatically you're good at RWB / LWB which quite frankly is untrue.That's why Oxlade Chamberlain can be considered at RWB but not right back.At RWB or LWB you're asking too much in terms of attack from
Bellerin and Kolasinac.A proper wing back can be viewed
as a more defensive winger which quite frankly none of them are and they don't possess the flexibility too to play that way.Our midfielders are also not disciplined enough because in 3 back there's a huge gap in the centre of the field that must be covered by our CM's so indiscipline only means disaster.We also have Ozil who looks like he's playing at RW in 3 back.In that we're limiting his impact because Ozil takes on his man because he wants to not because he likes to.You can't play such players at the wing.He's a proper No. 10 who likes to be given freedom.That's why Ozil plays likes he's lazy on the ball and stuff.It's because he wants to be free and for that you need to put him at No. 10.
If Gabriel Paulista does leave Arsenal this summer due to his likely becoming surplus to requirements at Arsenal which himself might have sensed, apart of the 4 specialist defenders of: Koscielny, Monreal, Mustafi and holding who have been regularly manning the Arsenal back three line of recent, other centre backs like Mertersacker & Chambers, and defensive
wingbacks of
Bellerin, Kolasinac, and the defensive midfielders of Elneny & Niles, can all also play
as centrebacks in a back three or back four denfese - line whenever the need arised.
I hope he can signal to us that he has learned his lessons from the ridiculous experiments over the last games and that he will field 3 CD and not play Monreal
as middle CD and that he plays Laca in the center and Kolasinac
as left wing - back and
Bellerin as right

Lemar is not a defender... the whole point of playing a 5 man defence is to play 5 defenders... the only reason why OX ever played
as a
wingback was because
Bellerin was injured and subsequently rubbish when he returned.It makes bo sense playing 4 defenders in a 5 man defence formation.
And how on earth we end up with
Bellerin as left
wingback, when we have the prospect of a strong left side with Monreal and Kolasinac, I just can't understand.
If we did that - we wouldn't have
Bellerin in defence (midfielder), Ox at
Wingback, Sanchez sometime upfront, Henry
as a striker — the list goes on
It sort of work towards the end of last season cos Chamberlain was deployed
as our
wingback and Monreal manning the other wing but now with
Bellerin and Kolasinac (very predictable players with no set skills) it's affecting us seriously.
Bellerin needs to study Dani Alves» movements if he wants to improve
as a
wingback.
Bellerin and Kolasinac will play
as two
wingbacks while Xhaka and Ramsey will feature in the heart of the midfield for Arsenal.
Walcott might not have the most all around game but he does have a knack for scoring goals, Gibbs
as a former winger did a decent job
as a
wingback, Coq wasn't fluent but won the ball well and stopped some dangerous looking counters at source, and
Bellerin looked like a refreshed player.
But Le Prof will have to be making the very correct Arsenal PL games starts and bench week in week out during the season campaign and deviates from unnecessarily playing his players out of their correct positional place of playing like switching
Bellerin to play left
wingback instead of to play him
as right
wingback.
