Apples are high in fiber, and
nut butter is high in protein and unsaturated fat (the
good kind).
Banana and
nut butter are not only great together, but are also one of my favorite combos, because,
well, peanut
butter is heavenly in my eyes.

Hi Vanessa, the Nutribullet is a really
good small size blender which I would really recommend however it's
best to make
nut butters in a food processor as blenders really need a liquid in order to function.
2 tbs of
nut butter — peanut
butter is especially
good (although you can ignore the
nut butter totally if you don't eat
nuts)
These then hold their
nut butter in much
better than just using the plain
nut butter... much less melty!
Hi, what is the
best way to mix
nut butter with plant based milk (like almond or soy milk), so I can make my overnight oatmeal / chia seeds breakfast?
I loved the saltiness from the almond
butter with it but other
nut butter would work really
well too.
Hi Heidi, I find that
nut butters work so much
better in a food processor as the Vitamix doesn't create that smooth and creamy texture, and often need a form of liquid to function too.
I did nt put
nut butter or almond milk because i cant do
nuts but raw milk and chia and flax seeds and it was delicious I follow many health blogs like yours but your recipes are certainly the
best!
My favourite
nut butter is almond
butter and I include so many other
nuts into my recipes so don't really feel the need for peanuts as
well as they aren't very high in nutrients.
You could try using pumpkin seed or sunflower seed
butter to replace the
nut butter but sadly I haven't tried a
good enough substitute for the cashew
nuts!
And if you've got a little
nut butter at home, that's also
good on top.

The food processor is great for a lot of the dessert recipes,
nut butters and hummus where as the blender is
better for smoothies.

You do get what you pay for, as the stronger your machine is the easier it will be to use and you'll be able to make smoother hummus,
better pesto, proper
nut butters and great raw treats.

I tried making it while living in Kenya (
good luck finding
nut butters there) but did not have much success (the equipment is also not that great).
If I can't afford to buy a food processor as
well, do you think it works to use the blender for making stuff like energy balls and
nut butters?
One tweak I've made that works really
well is to just soften the
nut butter in a pan (I live in Australia and store my
nut butter in the fridge, especially in summer!)

Nut Butters include ingredients that are certified gluten free, as
well as dairy free.
The reason for the mix is because this should hold up
well at room temperature as opposed to just using
nut butter only.
I split the
nut / oat mix in half and made one batch with a scoop of almond
butter and a bit of coconut oil and they are so
good!
However, if you have diabetes / pre-diabetes and you are including bananas as part of a whole meal then I would just balance them with some healthy fat (avocados,
nuts, etc.) You could have a banana on top of a piece of sprouted whole grain toast with some almond
butter and that would be a
good option.
Sometimes when I add honey to my
nut butter it seizes up and gets all gross, but it looks like that didn't happen here which is
good because I need this!
