creative mind surrounded by the decay of buildings and a search for
identity in a fast paced world.
He also addresses the tension
between traditional and contemporary
identities and how the intersection of cultures informs his perspective and
creative practice.
Tim Portlock's lifelong interest in the dialogue
between place and the formation of
identity is the fuel behind his
creative endeavors.
As a
creative positioned
between Caribbean and American culture, her work interrogates ideas of
identity, notions of power, perceived histories and the entanglements that happen within these topics.
We've seen this kind of thing done before —
creative recycling is always welcome on these pages — but we like the balance this strikes
between looking like the original packaging and taking on its own
identity as lighting.
