Ahead of the its release, fans were wondering if there would be a Logan post-credits scene and were picking apart rumors, wondering if we'd be seeing any other familiar faces
beyond Logan and Patrick Stewart's Professor X.
Well, it turns out that there's an extra scene at the beginning of the film that wasn't included in early press previews, and another Marvel
character does appear in Logan... kind of.
Despite spanning some thirty - five years and running
well over two hours, the film's lean storytelling has room for just four main
characters beyond the remarkable protagonist.
Asa Butterfield (Hugo, Ender's Game) isn't particularly
well cast here in the lead, his lead performance is very surface based, pushing the
character from scene to scene, but never developing him
beyond a cliché.
It's common knowledge by now that Avengers: Infinity War and its as - yet - untitled sequel is set to really shake up the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the two - part superhero epic serving as a finale for several
characters, as
well as launching the MCU into a new direction for Phase Four and
beyond.
It's a tweak that blends
well with the established material /
character and
beyond that, LeFou does have a more notable arc than in the animated version, where he was simply Gaston's toady.
It sounds like we could very
well be seeing a lot of
characters beyond that as
well.
On top of all these problems is the minimal amount of
character development,
beyond the optics that these are the
good guys, and we should care about them.
In fact, ZigZag succeeds far
beyond it's contrived story primarily due to the fact that we come to like the
characters,
well portrayed by Sam Jones (Glory Road, Home of the Brave) and John Leguizamo (Spawn, Titan A.E.), regardless of the hard - to - swallow antics they go through.
But in
character education, the most successful efforts to help students become
good people go
beyond simply teaching them what it means to be
good.
Over the years, the event has grown and grown with schools going above and
beyond to celebrate some of our
best - loved
characters.
