In a similar fashion we are
taught to treat the
bible as the ultimate source of
truth and not rely on our insights or understanding.
We shouldn't fall trap or victim of logic interpretation of defintion of
bible teaching and what the
truth in it really intended to convey to people like you and me!
If you think the
bible is enough, just look at the hundreds of traditional - Christian churches that read from one
bible, yet
teach hundreds of different doctrines, which confuses us as to which interpretation is the
truth.
This is due to the mere fact, that if Roman Catholics were to start reading the
bible themselves, they would see that the man made
teachings within the Vatican through the catholic priests are mostly just man made religious laws, If catholics read the
bible, they would see the
truth in the
teachings of GOD and His Son Jesus Christ.
I used to be an evangelical christian, but years or dealing with christian hypocracy & the contradictive
teachings of the
bible, made me yearn for
truth!
The major religions of the world
teach you not to ask the questions to get at the
truth... in fact questioning is the one of the things that they quiet by saying... oh cuz it says so in the
bible.
Martin Luther presented the theology of Sola scriptura that the
bible is the sole source to live and understand what Christianity is all about... but the
bible itself does not come with a table of contents to prove that it is correct which is why the
bible itself says that the CHURCH is the pillar and foundation of
truth... remember that the church existed before even the
bible was even put together... To understand the
bible you cant just rely on your own interpretation like the protestants often say... The
truth is always absolute and hence the
teachings of the
bible HAS to be absolute which is why the church is said to be ONE in nature (in every sense of the word), HOLY, CATHOLIC (Universal in
teaching in every corner of the world) and APOSTOLIC (roots dating back to Jesus himself)... Now figure out what is that one church... The church put together the
bible and the holy spirit always protected the church against false
teachings and 1600 years later came about the
teaching of Sola Scriptura... Protestants... look within and see whats wrong with this
teaching.
With hundreds and maybe thousands of different churches and the same number of translations of the
bible, how could anyone know the
truth when all churches, even in the same denomination
teach and believe differently.
The
Bible teaches Christian spirituality while the theology books
teach Christian religion ------- Well, my point is that the
bible doesn't exist everywhere, so it's
teachings can not be universal
truths.
Any
teaching that contradicts the
bible on these
truths, including
teachings found in the book of Mormon, is under God's curse and is enslaving its followers and causing them to carry an impossible burden.
