They revised an earlier HIPPARCOS parallax estimate of l02 ly made in the 1990s that had an error margin (Plx
= 31.92 + / - 0.51 mas) just
big enough to suggest that the star may actually
lie about 100 ly away, in agreement with Earth - based parallax measurements computed before 1978 as reported by Robert Burnham, Jr. (1931 - 93).
