As an associate professor and director of the Okeanos Research
Laboratory in Clemson's department of
biological sciences, Mount has
dedicated his scientific career to studying the mysteries of oyster shell formation and the prevention of marine biofouling by barnacles.
We discovered several Eph receptors and ephrins, and research in our
laboratory is
dedicated to the characterization of Eph receptor signal transduction mechanisms and
biological functions using biochemical, mass spectrometry, molecular biology and cell biology approaches in conjunction with animal models.
