The team behind the recently launched
Bitcoin Classic implementation believes that a change in fee policy is undesirable, questions whether the increased transaction throughput will be sufficient, and points out that there is a security degradation for nodes that don't upgrade to the latest
version of the software.
Those signing the letter also called for greater collaboration with the team behind
Bitcoin Core, though the wording notably does not preclude those involved from running test
versions of the
Bitcoin Classic network.
While at the moment
Bitcoin Classic seems to be the most popular, Gavin Andresen is ready to support other
versions as well.
Bitcoin Cash is a modified
version of the
Bitcoin cryptocurrency, also known as a «fork» off of
classic Bitcoin.
The beta
version of Circle Invest 1.0.0 only has
bitcoin core, ethereum,
bitcoin cash, ethereum
classic, and litecoin at the moment.
The
Bitcoin Classic team, which counts among its members developers Andresen and Bloq CEO Jeff Garzik, said that it expects to release another
version based on
Bitcoin Core 0.12 in the next few weeks.
