Just received
my Blackbird hammock and I haven't had the chance to do any serious hanging in it yet.
I just received the War Bonnet
Blackbird hammock less than a week ago, but have already trail tested it on an overnight stay on Peekamoose Mountain in the Catskill Mountains of NY.

In my opinion, the warbonnet
Blackbird is one of the best
hammock (particularly the XLC)(to not say the best one).

I've been using a
Blackbird XLC for over a year now on all my camping trips, (except one where I shared a tent with someone else — IMO the ONLY downside to
hammock camping) and it is heavenly!

Like the standard
Blackbird, the XLC also includes a footbox which allows the user to fully use / extend the
hammock fabric in the foot area without restriction from the netting, the result is maximum leg room.
The
Blackbird XLC comes with 2 elastic lines, one on each side of the
hammock, these are used mainly to pull the netting out and away from the user, and to support the shelf, you can fully remove or leave these cords un-staked whenever it's convenient, they are not required to use the
hammock.
The built in ridge line of
Blackbird series of
hammock is great because it allows you to put everything up without really guessing if the
hammock is too tight or too loose.
I've had ENO, grand trunk and Hennessey
hammocks and the
Blackbird XLC combines all the best of my previous
hammocks in one.
The weight penalty of these great features is negligible which makes the
Blackbird the perfect
hammock for me.
Many other
hammock companies (excluding HH) sell their systems piece by piece whereas the
Blackbird comes with integrated insect netting and straps as well as awesome features like double layer bottom for easier placement of insulation and the little shelf to keep things handy but out of the way.

Blackbird 1.1 double (original Version), but when Brandon came out with the new version, I figured I would get the newer
hammock, in the single layer as I figured out that an underquilt (Warbonnet Yeti) is the only way to go when keeping with comfort ability.
The
blackbird is truly one of the best backpacking
hammocks you can buy.
Having just spent 6 weeks hiking the AT and sleeping in my
Blackbird 1.7, I'm beyond happy with the performance and comfort of the
