Three past Boardwalk Art Show «Best in Show» winners have ties to current or upcoming exhibitions at MOCA.

In 1952, local Virginia Beach artists hosted the first Boardwalk Art Show to raise funds for an artist friend who suffered a stroke.

The Boardwalk Art Show presented by PNC Bank has been produced by the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (a 501 c - 3 non-profit) since 1952.

MOCA annualy produces the famous Boardwalk Art Show and Holiday Craft Sale, and has participated in The Neptune Festival and Coastal Virginia Magazine Wine Fest, as well as juried Chalk the Walk ARTsplosion, Artisans in the Park and many others.

The Boardwalk Art Show presented by PNC Bank is produced by the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), a museum and arts organization that evolved from the art show itself.
