Now while keeping the sleekness of
the Bold form factor, the Commuter adds no bulk at all, giving some of the best protection in cases out there.
The Bold 9900 series comes as the same
Bold form factor you all know, but gets a touchscreen on top.
Not exact matches
The
Bold 9900 has a similar look and shape to the first
Bold 9000 handset of 2008, where later handsets in the same series have had much smaller
form factor that are closer to BlackBerry Curve mobile phones than the original.
The
Bold is known for its distinctive
form factor and features the classic BlackBerry design with a full QWERTY keyboard and trackpad navigation.
Looking back at my BlackBerry
Bold 9780 review, this is one of the things I desperately wanted to see come to this
form factor of
Bold, and with the 9790 RIM finally delivered it.
And heck, they're already taking the Palm Pre's
form factor with the
Bold slider, so why not borrow the Pixi's design for the Pearl's keyboard.
It holds basically the same
form factor as the
Bold series, but mixes a full QWERTY keyboard with a touchscreen.
With the BlackBerry
Bold line representing the best of the traditional BlackBerry
form factor and experience, the Torch brand now represents the best of the full touchscreen experience.
The new
Bold 9900 series carries a very unique shape, and the backside is unlike any other
form factor we've seen before.
The BlackBerry
Bold Touch also uses a new battery from RIM, so hopefully the addition of a touchscreen to this famous BlackBerry
form factor won't have too much of a negative impact on battery life.
Various other bloggers, including Al Sacco at CIO.com, have called the device the
Bold 9800 since mid-May, at least, and tied the slider
form factor and other hardware features with BlackBerry 6, the upcoming operating system that RIM has acknowledged is coming later this year with a better WebKit browser.

The BlackBerry
Bold 9700 feels like the last step in an evolution of devices, bringing together the
form factor from the Curve 8900 with the tech specs of the original
Bold.
Called the BlackBerry Colt, it has a similar
form factor to the BlackBerry
Bold.
If Wi - Fi really is that important as well as 3G then you'll have to go for the larger
form factor Bold, however you'll loose out on that newer 3.2 - megapixel camera over the
Bold's current 2 - megapixel offering.
Discounting the
form factor (qwerty keyboard), BBM was the last hook to my Blackberry
Bold.
The close - together keys with «guitar fret» separators scream
Bold, yet the overall
form factor is much more like the BlackBerry Curve 8900.

Bold 9650 is a quality 3G smartphone with a crisp 480x360 display, a relatively fast processor (thought to be 624 MHz), a great BlackBerry keyboard, beautiful
form factor, Wi - Fi, GPS, CDMA and GSM network support and a pile of application memory.
While the device really looks like a refresh to the BlackBerry
Bold 9700/9780
form factor, I can't help but think this is a prototype that will never see the light of day as it was usurped by dakota / montana (9900/9930).
Bottom line: If you're a big fan of the BlackBerry Tour, and you're not in the market for a new
form factor, you'll love the
Bold 9650, since it's a more powerful, more durable (hopefully) version of the same device.

It combines the power and productivity of a BlackBerry
Bold with the recently - released BlackBerry OS 6.0 in a clamshell design that manages to be stylish despite sporting a
form factor that's largely fallen out of fashion.
