According to an

Book Foundation, this year's bunch of Finalists includes 13 women — «the largest number of women Finalists in a single year in the
Awards» history.»
The finalists for the National
Book Award were announced this morning, but something apparently didn't go according to plan in the
announcement for Young People's Literature.

announcement of the children's and nonfiction longlists, the National
Book Foundation has released the list of
books up for the 2013 National
Book Award in the fiction category:
According to the
announcement, Mary Hemingway, Ernest Hemingway's wife, founded the
Award in 1976 to «honor her late husband and draw attention to first
books of fiction.»

May 15, 2018 — Ten works of fiction and six poetry collections remain in the running for this year's Best Translated
Book Awards following the
announcement of the two shortlists at The Millions website this morning.
The
announcement today of the shortlist for the annual Waterstones Children's
Book Prize brought an early response: While the
award's shortlists started out as reasonably gender - balanced, they have tended to favor female authors and illustrators in recent years.
Among the varied and exciting events are the Sunrise Speakers Series; multiple author presentations; memorial lectures; and
award announcements, including the Youth Media Awards, the Stonewall Book Award, and many ot

Part of the issue included
