changed when I spoke with Rick Wormeli, a celebrated teacher and author of one of my favorite

Now one of the most anticipated events of Frankfurt
Book Fair each year, The Markets conference's theme this year on October 10 is «
Change: A 360 - Degree View.»
At the meeting, Juergen Boos said: «A new spirit of optimism can be observed in Italy's cultural scene right now: The Italian
book market underwent a period of dynamic upheaval and drastic
change in recent years — including the consolidation of publishing houses as well as new bookstore concepts and the new
book fair Tempo di Libri in Milan.
How many times recently have I seen writers desperate to sell their wares, spend money time and effort to
change a cover for instance and to produce actual paperback copies, which they then hawk around the many small time
book fairs, largely at their own expense?
Paperight has already won awards for innovation at Tools of
Change, London
Book Fair, and in South Africa, and today is up for an award through the Startup Showcase.
At last year's Frankfurt
Book Fair, Lee Brackstone, editorial director of Faber and Faber, said, «The way we're acquiring is
changing.
In recent years he has addressed or keynoted on digital
change and publishing strategy before the Booksellers Association of England & Ireland (in Dublin); the

The real hope lies in the
changes that are underway, as writers become aware of options, what's
fair and what isn't, the quality of self - published
books increases — and readers become increasingly open to digital
books.
Running from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., The Markets is presented by Publishing Perspectives and the Frankfurt
Book Fair, and this year is subtitled, «
Change: A 360 - Degree View.»
Good e-Reader caught up with YUDU at this week's Frankfurt
Book Fair and spoke with Charlie Stephenson and Laura Austin about some of the recent
changes that have taken place within the company.
As fuzzy as it may be, the focus of the
Fair is jarring, especially when, as Jones nails it: «By concentrating on what they do well — making
books — publishers have glided along the literary autobahn, accelerating with the pace of
change only when they have had to.»

book in the small Humor category will cost only $ 50, whereas a promotion for a $ 2.99
book in the Crime Fiction category will set you back a hefty $ 2,350 (which is a
fair chunk of
change even for arguably the best e-
book service available at the moment).

Fair, more for publishing peeps than readers (though that's
changing a little).
BOLOGNA: After attending sessions at an Australian publishing forum in Beijing just a few days before, walking into the Tools of
Change for Publishing conference at the Bologna Children's
Book Fair this past Sunday felt like stepping back out of a time machine.

changed, revenue's EUR 1.4 M, net losses are negligible, and net assets are 1.7 M (which I suspect are understated)-- let's assume 75 % of
Book (or 1.2 M) is actually a
fair value here.
Business class awards will still be expensive in cash outlay, and will start costing more miles as well come June (with the ability to
book at lower mileage levels through December, a good and
fair move to give reasonable notice of
changes to members).
