And when the producers decided they didn't want to
work once again with
Bourne Identity director Doug Liman — a man notorious for causing chaos behind the camera rather than in front of it — screenwriter Tony Gilroy recommended Greengrass, and he got the job.
This is not to say that The
Bourne Identity is a garish animal to look at, but it certainly needs no introduction through the director's previous
works.
It can easily hold its own amongst films like The
Bourne Identity and The Silence of the Lambs, in no small part due to the tireless
work of the duo at the helm.
It's a one - joke film that might have
worked better as a short skit or featurette, but at two hours in length, the material is spread too thin to keep it from inducing boredom, regardless of how many explosions director Doug Liman (The
Bourne Identity, Go) flings at us in order to alleviate the oft recurring lulls.
Syndicate features the talents of celebrated actors Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Men in Black II) and Brian Cox (The
Bourne Identity), who take on the roles of cutthroat executives
working for the biggest and most aggressive syndicate.
