I have a decent collection of Nintendo Virtual Boy games that I've acquired here and there from eBay, and while I have titles such as Virtual
Boy Wario Land, Jack Bros, and Panic Bomber in my collection, I've never been able to find intestine - based puzzle game Virtual Lab for sale at a price I was willing to pay.
Wario refers to the area below the Awazon as «deep within the Earth» in the manual of Virtual
Boy Wario Land.
But though games such as Teleroboxer, Red Alert, and even Mario Clash did little to excite gamers, many feel that there was at least one diamond in the rough of the Virtual Boy, the creatively - titled Virtual
Boy Wario Land.
Hearts make a reappearance in Virtual
Boy Wario Land, where there are two types: a regular Heart now worth 1 Heart Point, and a Big Heart [2] worth the original amount of 10 Heart Points.
The Virtual Boy game would need some work to make a version playable on the GBA, but it'd be a nice bonus for those who have never played Virtual

Wario title and smartphones is an ideal platform.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention

Boy and His Blob, which all flew in under the radar before NSMB Wii.
Wario Land II is a game that came out in 1998 for the Game
Boy and has made its way to the Game
Boy Color the following year.
This all new Made in
Wario (known as
Wario Ware in the states) has a special motion sensor built in that will detect how you move the Game
Boy system around.
Wario Land 2 was the first full - color game I ever got for my Game
Boy Color... and not only was it pretty, the level design and «invincible» gameplay blew me away.

It's sequel, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, removed much of the wackiness in favor of more standard Mario fare, and eventually the side - series was hijacked by

Far too many popular video game franchises and hardware are celebrating milestone anniversaries this year, but let us not overlook the tenth anniversary of Nintendo's
Wario Land 4 for the Game
Boy Advance.
Wario Land 2 was originally released for Game
Boy Color in 1999 and is now available as a Virtual Console title for the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS.
Since most of my Game
Boy time had been spent in the backseat of my parents» car as an underage passenger, once I was able to hit the road on my own and pal around with friends on our own terms, my interest in Game
Boy games began to wane (I even missed out on
Wario Land 2 and the twin Zelda games Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, all experience gaps I rectified as an adult).
After stealing a pair of Game
Boys (he didn't get rich by writing checks, you know),
Wario accidently drops them down a sewer where they're found by an old fellow known as the Sewer Guru.
While R&D 1 took their creation in a whole new direction, popular developer Treasure (creators of titles such as Gunstar Heroes and Astro
Boy: The Omega Factor) had the opportunity to create a more traditional
Wario title for the Nintendo GameCube.
Or rather, a new quest came to him, as
Wario Land II for the Game
Boy hit store shelves, with obnoxiously - loud box art and minus the Super Mario Land subtitle.
The story begins with
Wario playing (and losing at) a game on his Game
Boy Advance, causing him to emulate many a frustrated gamer and throw the device at the wall.
Wario's adventures continued in 2000's
Wario Land 3 for the Game
Boy Color, which brought more advanced graphics than
Wario Land II.
The year was 2007, three years since
Wario had been playable in action in Super Mario 64 DS, four years since his last solo effort in
Wario World, and six years since his last
Wario Land title appeared at the dawn of the Game
Boy Advance.
The original concept for
Wario (in the days of the Game
Boy and N64) was that he was going to be a German character rather than an Italian or Italian American one.
All in all
Wario Land 3 was a great game, and with its upcoming release on the 3DS eShop, people who haven't played it back on the Game
Boy Color should give it a try.
For most racers the finish line is the goal, but if you combine
Wario with this bad
boy, the game takes on a whole new meaning.
But the accessibility of the Game
Boy also opened the door for Nintendo to create new franchises on the console, an opportunity that would lead to the creation of Pokemon and
Wario.
Unfortunately, due to the general lack of interest in the Virtual
Boy as a whole, the game is considered a sort of lost treasure, and without any similar hardware available, the possibility of a port or re-release of
Wario's Awazonian adventure remains dubious, at best.
But the most noteworthy change came in the Virtual
Boy's 3D abilities, as special blocks would launch
Wario into the background, where more items, enemies, and hidden goodies were placed, forcing
Wario to move between the two planes if he wanted to get everything.

Wario Land 3 is coming soon, and Super Mario Bros. 3 will be released in the Nintendo eShop on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS later this year.
It's apparently a pretty good game, so I guess it's wise to go ahead and buy it if you want to play an interesting Game
Boy Color game on 3DS and try out one of
Wario's lesser known adventures.
