The American Cocker Spaniel
Breed Standard does not specifically prohibit
cropped ears and there is no DQ for a
cropped Cocker although I suspect considerable blow back would occur if this happened.

Standards for this
breed may sometimes vary but most breeders prefer various
ear - types (

Some argue that conformation shows create an unhealthy image or standard by which most dogs can't compete, that
breeding for conformation has all but ruined several of the popular
breeds we know and love, and that it supports inhumane procedures like
cropping ears and docking tails.
