Research by
British Future suggested David Cameron could have secured a
majority if ethnic minority voters had supported the Tories in equal numbers to their
white counterparts.
The findings show that the
majority of Sikh, Muslim and Hindu state - funded schools have no «
white British» pupils at all, while the rest have only one or two at most.
If ethnic minorities had voted for Cameron at the same rate as the
white British population in 2010, the Tories would have won 500,000 more votes, 24 more seats from Labour, and a parliamentary
majority.
