The James Beard Foundation, the culinary industry's most prestigious recognition
program, has announced the winners of the 2016 James Beard Foundation Book,
Broadcast &
Journalism Awards, honoring the nation's top cookbook authors, culinary
broadcast producers and hosts, and food industry journalists.
Before that, he held a position as a school and community specialist with the Center for Court Innovation in New York and was the
program coordinator for New Community for Children in Washington D.C. Smith has a bachelor's degree in
broadcast journalism from Michigan State University.
As General Manager and then President of Channel 13, Jay Iselin was largely responsible for making Public Television a vital force in
broadcast journalism, originating such
programs as Nature and The MacNeil / Lehrer NewsHour.
