Bulkhead row of Premium Economy is very nice.
But if you don't mind people bumping into and pulling on your seat, I say choose
the bulkhead row of Premium Economy Class seats with the leg rests.
Bassinets are sometimes offered by airlines in
the bulkhead rows of seats.
Not exact matches
Well it came boarding time and the seat would not fit in any
of the standard
rows, only
bulkhead.
Bulkhead seats in
rows 1 and 9 have a few more inches
of space.
Before we look at the new elite level benefits, let's examine Virgin's new third tier
of seats called Main Cabin Express, which should not be confused with its Main Cabin Select seats on
bulkhead and exit
rows in coach.
All the seats are the same with the exception
of the
bulkhead and emergency exit
row seats.
However, the best benefit that I know most people are after include free upgrades to main cabin select, Virgin America's «premium» economy seat that includes free premium TV, food, and booze in flight, along with 38»
of leg room thanks to being an exit or
bulkhead row.
Alaska's premium class seating (which basically offers 3 - 4 inches
of extra legroom) is a different bird from Virgin's over-priced «main cabin select» (which offers exit
row,
bulkhead seats, free food & booze, early boarding and dedicated overhead bin space).
Bulkhead and emergency exit
row seats will have extra legroom but the «window» seats lack windows due to the positioning
of the emergency exit doors.
In the
bulkhead row, the seats are designed with adjustable leg rests instead
of foot rests.
Pro tip: If you can select your seat ahead
of time, I would choose the
bulkhead row seats over the other seats as the leg rests are better for relaxing than the foot rests.
When it comes to Preferred Seating on Delta, you'll get access to «
bulkhead seats, aisle seats toward the front
of the plane, window seats toward the front
of the plane, and emergency exit
row seats.»
Of note in the main economy class cabin was
row 11, the
bulkhead Main Cabin Extra
row with almost unlimited legroom (but no windows).
There is no any
bulkhead in front
of this
row.
The standard economy
row 28 also has a
bulkhead which consists
of a flimsy curtain and therefore offers more legroom than this premium economy
row.

The best x-tra legroom in Economy is
row 28 - no
bulkhead in front, just a curtain and plenty
of space for your legs.
While it is good to see Delta making additional revenue, it could come at the expense
of Medallion members who book tickets at the last minute since they may now have fewer preferred exit
row and
bulkhead seats to choose from... was that not the point
of introducing the preferred seating in the first place?
Example: I frequently take advantage
of last minute upgrades to Virgin America's Main Cabin Select seats, which offer a few extra inches
of legroom at exit
rows and
bulkheads, free in - flight food and booze, dedicated bin space and early boarding privileges.
Only note
of caution:
Row 12 on this aircraft does not have much legroom due to the close position
of the
bulkhead.
On AC 772 and 773 long haul a / c there is NO footrest in the first (
bulkhead)
row of PE.
