Travelers are now left in the rather quirky position where they can book a Qatar Airways
Business Class flight using Avios / AAdvantage Miles / JAL Mileage Bank / any other oneworld currency and get lounge access but, should they actually pay Qatar Airways for a fare and then upgrade that fare with Qatar Airways» own currency, they're treated like second class citi

Business Class fares on United's Star Alliance partners are more expensive (140,000 miles for a roundtrip booking) so to book one of those
with miles bought in this sale would cost $ 3,150.
That said, for the leisure traveler or the
business traveler
with fixed plans, a roundtrip SFO - CPH
business -
class fare of $ 3,200 is quite reasonable, particularly when compared to nonstop flights to «major demand» cities such as London, Paris, or Frankfurt.
British Airways also has a nice
business class sale going on
with fares from east coast cities at just under $ 2,000, but it's a two - for - one sale.
(Recall that BA offered another fantastic
business class sale just a few weeks ago,

For me the most important part of this trip was the opportunity to review the Qatar Airways A320
Business Class cabin — getting to visit a South East Asian city that I've never visited before (and
with an incredibly good
Business Class fare) was a very nice added bonus.

Class is out of the reach of most us under normal circumstances it comes within reach when you combine some of the very good British Airways

The story for San Francisco is much the same as the one for Los Angeles — KLM appears to offer the cheapest alternatives for those
with flexible travel plans, Scandinavia is once again the starting point for the cheapest
Business Class fares but American and British Airways don't make an appearance in the sub - $ 2,000 bracket this time.
Premium cabin travel doesn't have to be horrifically expensive nor does it have to be purchased
with a loyalty currency (Avios) if you're to get a good deal — you can easily pay more for Economy
Class fares to some of these cities so these
Business Class fares really are very good indeed — especially the
fare to Los Angeles.
Before you book make sure you check how much stand - alone
fares are
with other airlines just to make sure you're getting a good deal (there can be some fantastic
Business Class deals to be found around the holidays) and make sure you consider if you could save money by using some hotel points to book your accommodation.
I happen to be considering a trip to Europe this fall
with my wife, and thanks to discounted ~ $ 1,500
business class fares we are considering paying cash.

fares and almost 10 round - trips
with the cheapest

with Business Class fares to the US and the Middle East.
I'm hoping to try out the Singapore Airlines all - premium cabin Airbus A350 - 900ULR when it comes into service in 2018/2019 and, as I'm unlikely to want to (or be in a position to) part
with the amount of cash a
Business Class fare between Singapore and New York will cost (that's the route I'm hoping to book), KrisFlyer miles will be my best option for securing a seat.
With international
Business class fares regularly coming below the $ 2,000 level (just check the Airfare Deals page) I'm not convinced that AAdvantage Miles can get me as much value as I can extract from Avios on the expensive short - haul routes.

business class redemptions were mostly mixed -

business class redemptions is that the
business class fares are often mixed
with economy on long segments.
One of the key things to remember is that, if you find your preferred European destination doesn't have a nicely discounted
Business Class fare associated
with it, you can always use one of the
fares listed above and then use a cheap, separate, short - haul
fare (possibly on a low - cost carrier) to get you to where you really want to go.

class, is the closest you can get.
The original poster in this thread on Flyertalk has reported on a conversation she had
with a British Airways Executive Club representative who confirmed that «R» coded
Business Class fares will no longer earn tier points or Avios
with immediate effect.
There are other good OneWorld, July,
Business Class fares available as well (in the $ 1,750 to $ 1,850) but none that appear to compete
with this one.
As well as that, any airline or alliance that I choose to fly also needs to be one that regularly offers good deals on the routes I want to fly — as the airlines around the world gradually increase the cost of award travel it's becoming increasingly important, for those of us
