assembly held in October in Ottawa, members from boards across Canada gave
CREA the votes it needed to firmly entrench what have been described as the «three pillars» of MLS: membership; remuneration sharing; and agency.

CREA Agency Task Force circulated a draft response to all provincial associations.

Special Assembly, the main topic of discussion is proposed amendments to
CREA's Rules and Regulations dealing with the MLS, which are designed to protect the Multiple Listing Service and MLS trademarks.
Following receipt of the letter, several
CREA meetings were held in Ottawa to discuss the matter, and there was some discussion of taking the matter off the agenda of the
Special Assembly and moving it to the Annual General Meeting in the spring.
CREA President Alan Tennant says that the Board of Directors was not discouraged by the vote at the
Special Assembly meeting, and that they are committed to finding a consensus for the issue.
