I know several
DIY bloggers who have
painted their
cabinets and had great results.
I am thinking on
painting my kitchen
cabinets, everywhere I looked online and read that people
painted their with
DIY chalk
paint seems that they loved it.
I have been thinking about the same decoupage «map treatment» for the top of one of our dressers, so I was thrilled to find the
DIY instructions for a Map
Cabinet at The
Painted Hive!
Ultimate plan is to
paint my oak kitchen
cabinets white but not a
DIY project for me.
At the time, we skipped more complicated or messy things like new counters or
painting cabinets and instead added a wall of
DIY board & batten, some fun cheery
paint, a
DIY faux tin tile backsplash (which by the way you can see is still there and working great for us years later!)
I'm realizing now that I need to make plans to
paint the
cabinets in our new home to help achieve the feeling I want in there (most likely
DIY).

Our farmhouse sink [HERE] is an inexpensive alternative to the real deal, the
DIY chalk
painted cabinets were a much needed and cheap refresh to the space, and these
DIY concrete counters were another low - budget way to update our kitchen.
To
DIY this look, remove
cabinet doors and
paint them white.
I recently
painted a
cabinet with
DIY chalk
paint but used 1 cup of
paint + 1/2 cup Plaster of Paris + 1/2 water.
This time though I have a lot more
DIY experience and research behind me and feel very confident that our new
painted cabinets will hold up.
Now that we are building a home and
DIYing another kitchen, I have jumped back into
painting cabinets.
