Much of the walk will be done along the Vilcanota

After a good rest, we will go down to the Hydroelectric plant on the Urubamba
River, from here, depending on the time, we will walk and / or take the train to Aguas

Calientes, you are accosted by dozens of shacks peddling colourful souvenirs set up in such a way that you have no choice but to walk through this maze to get to the other side of the Urubamba
river where the village is.
Another three hours trekking along the train tracks and the raging
river brings you to the tourist town of Aguas
Calientes.
From here we take the zigzagged trail down to the hydroelectric dam on the Urubamba
River and then to the bustling tourist town now known as Machu Picchu Pueblo (formerly called Aguas
