Even if you don't buy into the idea that Home Alone was an expression of libertarian, Republican values - in which poor, lazy criminals only got what they deserved - the
comedy in this film is hit - and - miss precisely because we don't
care enough
about the fall guys.
With twelve different
comedy genius directors including Peter Farrelly («Dumb & Dumber», «There's Something
About Mary», «Shallow Hal»), Steve Carr («Daddy Day
Care», «Dr Dolittle 2»), Steven Brill («Little Nicky») and Brett Ratner («Rush Hour») to name but a few and eight different writers, this jaw - droppingly crude and often obscene movie features a diverse star - studded cast, both British and American, who have banded together to shock you in the most hilarious ways you can think of.
If the choreographed sex scenes break into the pedestrian plot and dialogue of Body of Evidence like numbers in a musical
comedy, that's because they appear to be the only scenes the filmmakers really
care about; otherwise the characters and story can go straight to hell, one feels, as they eventually do.
The show, which is an adaptation of a British series, is ostensibly a
comedy —
about aging,
about the dysfunctional health -
care system,
about the everyday indignities of being alive — and it is often very funny.

But by the end of this vicious indie
comedy, you'll surprisingly find yourself
caring about whether they make it to their destination — and -LSB-...]
What starts out as a smart, sassy
comedy about infertility gets bogged down in its own potty humour, ultimately becoming a dull caper romp that's impossible to
care about.
Through half the movie, we have no good reason to
care for him, but buried inside McDonagh's caustic
comedy is a character study
about someone who might just possibly take a turn for the better.
There's not a recognizable human being to
care about, the story line is thin to the point of anorexia and much of the off - the - cuff
comedy falls flat in the absurdist setting.
Gregg Araki's new sex
comedy delves into the ridiculous, but you don't have to
care too much
about the plot.
But in order for the film to be compelling the audience needs a reason to
care about what's happening to the character, which is the key missing in Kill Your Friends, a pitch black
comedy based on the book of the same name by author John Niven.
Gray Matters goes from so - so to heart - crushingly bad over its hour and a half running time, chipping away at logic,
comedy, and entertainment value as it delves more and more into the character we
care about the least.
Did it really take fifteen years for this project to finally get off the ground only to have the movie studio not
care about putting this in the hands of a bad
comedy film director and a cast of no - names and / or TV stars?

Known for smaller, critically acclaimed indie

By this time, of course, no one
cares any more as even this reporter (and I'm sure the readers themselves) has grown tired of trying to find something — ANYTHING — even remotely interesting to continue writing
about Baywatch, which makes «Snatched» seem like «Citizen Kane» and any Adam Sandler
comedy look lucid, coherent and intelligent by comparison.
The film is a
comedy about a dysfunctional fake family as much as it is
about the importance of
caring about those around you — without shoving it down our throats too much.

The difference between a good screwball
comedy and a great one is that you
care about the screwballs, and in that sense, Mistress America is great indeed.
Of course, the style of action
comedy has to end with a montage letting us know the fate of each and every person, which is where this conclusion is fully reached; good luck
caring about any of them, protagonists or antagonists.
Date Night (15, running time: 88 min) stars dream
comedy pairing Steve Carell and Tina Fey, but this movie makes it hard to
care about their characters.
One of them was fairly high - profile: Chris Kelly's Other People, a heartfelt, beautifully rendered
