The reason for that is the good news reported by The Mirror this week about the imminent
return to fitness of our Spanish international midfield star Santi
Cazorla, with Arsene Wenger giving a very positive update on the little magician's road
to recovery.
The time is fast approaching when our much loved Chilean
returns, once at full
fitness of course he will reclaim his position on the left in Arsenal's starting line - up, with
Cazorla unable
to return for at least 8 weeks, you would assume Ramsey will keep his favoured position in the middle.
It's understandable that
Cazorla wouldn't be of total
fitness because in fairness he only just
returned to full first team training a few weeks before the end of the season and then had a long summer holiday off by not going
to Euro 2016.
As a result, his absence hasn't been really missed, however now with
Cazorla lacking in
fitness and Xhaka banned, Ramsey's
return to the Arsenal side this weekend could be vital.
both
cazorla and cesc had played perhaps 1 game in their national side, giving them a much more time
to train and
return to fitness.
As I wrote in an article for Just Arsenal, I think that his words were instigated by the
return to fitness of our German playmaker Mesut Ozil, who is clearly the main rival
to Cazorla for that central role.
Aaron Ramsey has taken on the role previously adopted by the Spaniard, and has found consistency in his new role, and
Cazorla may well have had a battle
to return to the starting line - up, but he would no doubt be a great option could he
return to fitness and form.
Ramsey, Wilshere and
Cazorla are capable of making a contribution,
fitness permitting, before the end of the campaign and should be involved in some capacity once they
return, but they shouldn't be instantly restored
to the starting line - up, with Elneny, Iwobi and Sanchez all vital for Arsenal's style of play at present.
Given
Cazorla's importance both on and off the pitch for Arsenal, his continued absence through injury will surely affect the Gunners in a negative fashion and it remains
to be seen as
to whether the veteran can
return to his best if and when he regains full
fitness.
