We started with the major projects first, including the closet organizer install, the
board &
batten accent wall, the painting, & the star
ceiling decals.
U-value: 0.13 W / m2K Roof: Tegral Thrutone fibre cement slates externally on 50x35

battens, followed underneath by breathable bitumen impregnated sarking
board, 500 mm timber attic truss fully filled with Knauf Earthwool Insulation, 15 mm taped & sealed OSB, 50 mm uninsulated service cavity, 12.5 mm plasterboard
ceiling.
My plan for this wall is floor to
ceiling board &
batten (yeah, my «old house self» is still there!).
So far I have painted the walls, the
ceiling (this was prior to my new ladder, so I painted it perched on a chair) and we started in on the
board and
batten!
I'm just in love with the wide floor to
ceiling board and
battens, set closer together than you usually see.
Problem is, our
ceilings are not a pure white so I would need to pain those too AND the recessed lights also came in that color so not sure what to do: / Maybe a white
board and
batten?

Back to Sonja's window for a minute... Although I used shorter curtain panels, I would actually opt for full - length panels (mounted close to the
ceiling) on the sides of the windows here since she has the
board and
batten on each of the adjoining walls.

I dig typography and all things monogrammed, gray, painted furniture, pops of bright color, plaid, photography, white, clean lines, old cameras, black, topiaries, gingham, bold graphics, red, wreaths, chevron, orbs, paisley, natural fiber rugs, green,

ceilings, buffalo check, and ceramic animals (that don't look too realistic)-- I could ramble on for a while...
We always keep the beadboard and
board and
batten the same (trim) color and typically use either 1/4 round or small crown molding to transition at the
ceiling.
I have been contemplating using
board and
batten in my nursery, but am worried about
ceiling height.
The original
board - and -
batten wainscoting, built - in cupboards, and exposed beam
ceilings were remarkably intact, though the fir floorboards were buried under layers of linoleum and indoor - outdoor carpet.
We have used
board and
batten walls in rooms with bead
board ceilings very successfully so I would think you'd be fine with the two near each other in separate rooms.
We added floor to

batten, reupholstered our headboard, painted out our nightstands, white dresser, and Ikea Tarva dresser, as well as got a beautiful new rug from Rugs USA and stunning bedding from Crane and Canopy.

The hall / stair with the paneling and barn door was the first to catch my attention, but now that I've seen the simple but elegant

batten ceiling that may stolen the show for me.

Erin, this room is stunning!!!!!!!! My favorite part is that you brought the black paint onto the
ceiling, that is so dramatic especially against the white
board and
batten (I used that color in my son's room for the also ORC and it has such a great depth doesn't it?)
In the same way crown molding adorns the
ceiling of a room and chunky trim adds depth,
board and
batten is the classic and straightforward solution to a plain wall.

We recently moved into a new home, we'll last summer, and I so wanted to add lots of
board and
batten wall treatment but the interior designer I had asked for help in paint color and such suggested I not do that because it would make the
ceiling height seem low which I'm desperate to try to make them seem +9 ′.
