Cena got more than what he bargained for.
That led into a submission attempt exchange, in which Cena put Bryan in the STF, Bryan countered to the Yes Lock and
Cena got to the ropes.
So when Cena eliminated Miz from multiple WWE World Championship opportunities over the span of a few weeks, Miz decided he was tired of
Cena getting in his way, evolving two old feuds into new ones with all kinds of new angles to work.
Maybe the long game is
Cena getting his win back at 35, maybe this was Vince's way of bringing Taker back with a bang.

Finn
gets tossed out by John
Cena when Finn isn't looking, and that's good news for everyone else, because Finn was crushing them all.
We've
got Orton,
Cena, Mystero, Reigns, Mysterio, and Nakamura still left.
We all know AJ, while he may not be as favored as Roman by the office, is clearly the 2 or 3 guy in the company on the active roster, and probably still a top 5 guy when you include
Cena and Brock as well — so what does he really have to
get behind outside of a dope moveset?
Is it possible Stewart will
get involved in the title vs. title match between Rollins and current United States Champion John
Cena?
The winner is still somehow not obvious despite there being just four men left: all four have a reasonable story line claim to winning the Rumble:
Cena to face Styles again, this time at Mania, Reigns to face off against Lesnar to wrap their long - term story, Nakamura to take on his old rival Styles, and Finn, the first Universal Champion ever who lost it due to injury,
getting a shot at Lesnar, the current Universal champ.
Throw in the real - life drama that Seth Rollins completely obliterated John
Cena's face with a knee strike a few weeks ago and baby, you've
got a stew going.
He appeared to be enjoying himself quite a bit, and this is not going to be the last bit of
Cena mugging in the audience that we'll
get tonight.
It's about
getting Roman over in a different way, the way that Austin, Rock, and
Cena did: being the company's torchbearer.
Cena acted like a brat and
got spanked.
but would be better if this happens for most of Wrestlemania, but before the 2 main events, Cien Almas, EC3 and Zelina Vega attack the 3 of them and we
get a 3 vs 3 mixed tag (or if Nicki Bella is there with
Cena, put the «iconic duo» wrestling instead of Zelina and have a 4 vs 4)
Roman was hot after TLC 2015 because he had an incredible match against a hated heel, and when he snapped after
getting screwed out of the win and was beating on the Authority aligned guys it was perceived as a turning point in his character away from the
Cena 2.0 stuff.
Once Vince
got involved he undid this because he pushed the
Cena 2.0 character even harder and made the Royal Rumble center around that character heroically overcoming the odds.
Then Nakamura
got Cena on the apron and hit the Kinshasa to knock him off.
And it'll be good that it's
Cena in there with him, both for historical purposes and the continuation of their feud that's been on ice for years, and the fact we can all trust John to be gentle with a guy who
got his start in wrestling two years before I was born.
Just like that,
Cena and Reigns
got back into the action.
After some soul - searching, Stewart hit
Cena with the chair and left it in the ring for Rollins, who hit a Pedigree on the chair to
get the pinfall victory and become a double champion, winning
Cena's U.S. title.
Not long after Bryan's three submission attempts,
Cena managed to
get him up for an Attitude Adjustment, but the little indie darling kicked out.
I have no doubt John
Cena worked hard to
get where he is, but realistically a «never give up» style message is more impactful coming from an underdog like Daniel Bryan than John
Cena.
People could see
Cena couldn't wrestle, and to his credit he worked his ASS off to
get better.
Well, four of them can't do it, because
Cena just
got eliminated by Strowman, too.
Cena has Balor and Seth on his shoulders, which is impressive, but Balor weighs like 190 pounds so don't
get too excited.
I think john was looking for someone to go to premiers with and things like the kids choice awards and nikki
got ratings for her show then
got her own tv show outta it and a monster push for being ms
cena it also
got nikki shown at premiers and id say landed her on dancing with the stars.
Now, we
get to see him have to fight back from what, for
Cena, is basically rock bottom, possibly en route to his record 17th world championship victory a year from now or whenever WWE
gets around to pulling on that thread.
John
Cena heard that the Undertaker is in the building, which means he has a chance to actually
get an answer about whether Taker will wrestle him here at WrestleMania 34.
In a related story,
Cena is laying on the ground
getting kicked until he can no longer feel.
Taker back,
Cena now
gets to be lost in thought about what went wrong, and this is going to lead to an intriguing path for each, probably.
What we
got was things going off the rails from the start —
Cena hit his finisher on four opponents before Styles decided against running right into one, and then it was signature moves and finishers and false finishes due to interference and brutal attacks on the outside and broken announce tables and stairs
getting thrown and Corbin did throw someone into the crowd, but alas, did not then use a fan as a weapon.
AJ Styles is finally
getting a little break on the outside after Corbin threw him out of the ring, just in time for
Cena to reenter the ring and start delivering damage again.
Cena's still
got it, even if he's pretending he might not.
The former world champ (and current reigning AAA Mega Champion) picked up a massive first win back when he answered
Cena's U.S. Open Challenge and
got the pinfall after a big kick to the head... the same move that won him his first WWE world title.
His physique has underwent many changes over the years, but he never
got out of shape — when he came back in the ring for his match with
Cena at WrestleMania XXVIII he was bigger and stronger than ever.
The workout
gets John
Cena jacked by focusing on traditional bodybuilding routines.
John
Cena, appearing in his second hilarious comedy this year (Trainwreck),
gets a lot of mileage out of his one - note drug dealer character.
There is a joke where John
Cena's character Mitchell has to chug a beer through his asshole to
get into a high school party.
Speaking of humor, I
get that John
Cena is the epitome of masculinity so on paper it might be funny to have him break down crying at specific points throughout the film but man oh man did that joke fall flat on its face in the film.
We
get the basics of Ferdinand's (voiced with genuine gentleness by John
Cena) story, with his youth surrounded by other bulls who look forward to the «glory» of the bullfighting ring and his escape to an idyllic farm, where a young girl takes him in as her pet, and his winding up back where he started.
Munro Leaf's children's classic The Story Of Ferdinand, about a pacifist bull who'd rather smell flowers than chase after matadors,
gets the big - screen treatment in an animated film that features the voices of John
Cena, Kate McKinnon, and, uh, Peyton Manning.
Cena both looks the part and acts it, and
gets to spout the movie's best bit of amusingly macho, off - color grousing about the heat.
