As an American Jew, I enjoy all holidays... Jewish and Christian... I love to see the happiness of children at Christmas time and their anticipation of gifts... the joy of children at
Chanukah with the prospect of
getting gifts every day for 8 days... it's innocent... joyful... and absent of malice.
Thanksgiving,
Chanukah, Christmas, and New Year's all call for dinner parties, family gatherings,
get - togethers with friends, brunches, etc..
As
Chanukah approaches, I
get ready to make what we dubbed «latke recovery salad»: tart apples, romaine, celery and nuts with apple cider vinegar honey mustard vinaigrette (no oil!).
I'm not a big fryer during the year so when
Chanukah comes around, I break out the gallon - sized canola oil and
get to it.
You can even fry up the za'atar chips to really
get into the
Chanukah mood.
It's not too late to
get ZestFest tickets to go under your Christmas tree and you could still make the last day of
Chanukah!

I didn't know if it was really necessary to have a second pair, but I
got them as a gift for
Chanukah... and honestly, it rains a ton in Florida so they will definitely be worn a lot.
I had to
get myself an ugly
Chanukah sweater.
Although it was one of my favorite songs by the band, The Doors, playing Light My Fire on
Chanukah is a great way to
get into a romantic mood with your date.
These resources will help you
get in the spirit of the season and teach your students more about Christmas, Kwanzaa, and
Chanukah.
Both my sons have them as does my daughter in law and my grandson
got one for
Chanukah.
