This loan forgiveness and tuition assistance program prepares participants to serve at high - need New York
City public schools in the
areas of Bilingual Special Education, Monolingual and Bilingual Speech Language Pathology, Visually Impaired and Bilingual
School Psychology.
In the first phase, I use observations of
public meetings, interviews with community stakeholders, and analysis of local media coverage to examine the shifting understandings, assumptions, and norms underlying debates over
school desegregation in rapidly gentrifying
areas of New York
City.
