ever seen at great prices and award availability has never been easy to find.
Waiting to board wasn't the most auspicious of starts to my first

Class flight — we had a lady vomiting violently in the gate area with the Virgin Atlantic staff seeming somewhat indifferent to her plight.
If you pay for Business or First
Class flights then you can still rack up a lot of miles from flying but those of us flying at the back are seeing a far lower rate of return than
ever before — Delta and United (and soon American) base the number of miles they award travelers on the cost of the ticket purchased (less taxes) so the cheaper ticket you by the fewer miles you'll earn.
I had more leg room than I had
ever seen on a plane, my seat reclined further than I realised was possible and, in my first hour on the aircraft, I got more attention from the
flight attendants than I'd had on my previous ten Economy
Class flights put together.
American charges 100,000 miles + taxes for Business
Class flights from the US to Europe and, on the rare occasions I've actually purchased Business
Class tickets, I've not been prepared to pay more than $ 2,300 for the ticket (I only
ever by when there's a big sale on).
Anyone who has
ever boarded a
flight while flying economy
class without elite status knows that it can feel like the airline has forgotten about you when they finally board zone 73.
