The new
chart is effective from 14 January, 2014 and increases the number of points required to
upgrade from a discount economy (Red e-deal)
class to business.
That said, the
upgrade chart is far from a bargain, costing almost as much as a full on award, so maybe you'll be perfectly happy with an amazing Business
Class product.
There are no award
charts that allow for Premium Economy seats to be solely booked using points or miles yet but you can use Lufthansa Miles and More miles to
upgrade to Premium Economy from a paid Economy
Class ticket.
You can also
upgrade from that Main Cabin Select seat into First
Class for the price of a Main Cabin Select — > First
