A new trailer for 3D
Classics Kid Icarus, released by Nintendo just today.
I pre-ordered from Gamestop and I will also be getting a code for the 3DS
Classics Kid Icarus too!

In the past, he's dug into the hidden history of Doki Doki Panic - the game that famously became Super Mario Bros 2 in the west - and the secrets of
the classic Kid Icarus.

Perhaps cooking up something involving the touch screen and stylus, in the style of the excellent control scheme found in the
classic Metroid Prime Hunters or even the more recent but more controversial
Kid Icarus: Uprising might have made for a better control scheme, but that, unfortunately, wasn't the case here.
The creators openly admit being in thrall to 80s Nintendo
classics such as Super Mario Bros 3 and
Kid Icarus.
Compete with
classic characters from the Super Smash Bros. series like Mario, Link, Samus and Pikachu, along with new challengers like Mega Man, Little Mac and newly announced Palutena, the Goddess of Light from the
Kid Icarus games.
New series reboots of Syndicate, XCOM and
Kid Icarus bear little (if any) resemblance to the
classic games that they're based on.
And if it's in 3D, will it basically be 2.5 D graphics, or flat sprites on different planes like how Nintendo did Excitebike and
Kid Icarus 3D
Classics?
Oh and getting
Kid Icarus 3D
Classic as a pre-order bonus is another definite plus.
Now, that curveball might be completely ineffective: Surprise SNES Remix, F2P NFC game launching imminently, Pushmo Deluxe for WiiU, WiiU ports of
Kid Icarus: Uprising and Luigi's Mansion 2, HD remasters of N64
classics, etc..
Kid Icarus: Uprising is a great way for Nintendo to bring back a
classic franchise.
The 3DS can add depth to 2D platformers: Mighty Switch Force, Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, the 3D
Classics versions of Kirby's Adventure and
Kid Icarus....
This weekend it's all about the return of
classic franchises, with
Kid Icarus: Uprising giving the 3DS a much - needed lift, while both Ninja Gaiden III and Resident Evil: Raccoon City make divisive changes with disappointing results.
I'm glad that the «3D
Classics» series looks to continue past the initial 6 titles, and games like Kirby and
Kid Icarus are coming.
Additionally, consumers who pre-order at select retailers will receive a bonus download code for the 3D

The long wait for
Kid Icarus: Uprising was worth it, as another
classic Nintendo franchise moved into the third dimension with gusto...
I was on the fence for a while, but was eventually won over by developer Masahiro Sakurai's history of well - developed titles, the free 3D
Classics version of the original
Kid Icarus included with preorders, and my need to acquire just a few more Club Nintendo points to put me over the top for Platinum status for the year.
Nintendo of America has announced that customers who pre-order
Kid Icarus: Uprising, which comes out March 23rd in North America, will receive 3D
Classics:
Kid Icarus for free.
Games part of this series included Kirby's Adventure 3D
Classics and
Kid Icarus 3D
Classics, and they were developed simply as novelties to see games in 3D.
This second run of NES
