@Jeff: You can use
coconut aminos as a great sub for soy sauce during your Whole30 — some folks say it doesn't taste the same, but I honestly don't notice the difference, especially in recipes.
I did see that Bragg's makes
coconut aminos as well, but with shipping it costs just as much.
Kimchee (make sure it has no fish sauce, some do, some don't), various krauts (check the health food stores for good ones), kombucha beverages, kefir, and I think
coconut aminos as well.
I made a homemade seitan (usually made with Braggs or soy sauce) and a crazy delicious dipping sauce, both with
Coconut Aminos as a base.
You can bring your own
coconut aminos as mentioned above, and then the other elements are self - explanatory: either plain fish, or plain rice, or plain fish with rice.
Some of these recipes call for gluten free soy sauce, but if you're like me and can't do soy try
coconut aminos as a soy sauce substitute.

I used the same recipe
as I did here only I bumped up the
coconut aminos to 2 tbsp and decreased the olive oil to 3 tbsp.
I did notice that you will need to add a bit of salt to taste
as the
coconut aminos is not
as salty
as using soy sauce.
You may want to add a some salt, though, since
coconut aminos aren't quite
as salty
as tamari.

It appears that Bragg
coconut aminos does not contain glutamate
as it is not fermented with no added MSG or MSG containing ingredients.

As of this writing, it appears that there are no known studies on the health benefits of
coconut aminos specifically.

coconut is an excellent source of
amino acids and minerals including potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and manganese,
as well
as vitamin C and vitamin B2.
Organic
coconut sugar contains naturally occurring nutrients such
as magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, B vitamins and
amino acids.
Try
coconut aminos for that extra sweetness; or marinate you steak in good wine
as they do in Florence, Italy....
You can also add a spoon in your salad dressing
as the base for a salad dressing, combining it with ingredients like
coconut vinegar or
coconut aminos, with herbs and spices.
I recommend using half
as much soy sauce or tamari
as coconut aminos since their flavors are more intense.
