Because the toxicity is associated with oxidative stress and inflammation, the
study explored antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect of virgin
coconut oil (VCO) supplementation in nephrotoxicity induced by MTX in rats.

There are also other
studies showing that extra virgin
coconut oil does everything from helping to control type 2 diabetes, to boosting metabolism, but like any saturated fat, it should be used in moderation.

study that compared «cold extracted virgin
coconut oil» (CEVCO) with «hot extracted virgin
coconut oil» (HEVCO) and standard refined

First of all, why would the mainstream media even say anything about
coconut oil, since the main point they try to continue driving home to people is: «There are no
studies backing the health claims of
coconut oil»?
And if it is true that «there is little scientific evidence that
coconut oil ingestion can improve cognition or other behavioral aspects in AD or other neurodegenerative diseases,» then why not
study that?!
They have a
study currently in progress where they have enrolled 65 individuals with mild to moderate Alzheimer's to measure the effects of
coconut oil, versus a placebo, on the disease.
