The decision of the panel (or Executive
Committee) shall be final and binding and shall not be subject to further
review by the full
Committee or the full Board of Directors, except as otherwise provided in the
Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual.
When a Grievance
Committee receives a written ethics complaint, it will
review the complaint consistent with Sections 19 and 20 of the current NAR
Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual.
Moving into the new year, the Professional Standards
Committee will continue to
review and revise the
Code to ensure it remains a relevant, meaningful guide to all of us along our pathway of professionalism.
Furthermore being a member our Board's grievance ethics
committee I would suggest you
review the
Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice because discriminating (or black listing) Entry Only, Limited Service, or Flat Fee listings and refusing to show these to your potential buyers (even if they are good fits for their needs) can get you an Ethics Violation and a sanction by your Board.
Grievance and Professional Standards: The Grievance and Professional Standards
Committee reviews complaints brought to the Association for
Code of Ethics or Professional Standards violations.
In both types of cases, the matter is first
reviewed by the Territorial Grievance
Committee whose role is to ensure that ethics complaints fall under the Articles and Standards of Practice set forth in the
Code of Ethics or that arbitration requests fall within the arbitrarily guidelines of the REALTOR ® Association's
Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual.
Each year, NAR's Professional Standards
Committee reviews and evaluates the
Code of Ethics to ensure that it addresses current issues and practices in real estate.
Such organizations have uniformly created mechanisms for the administration and enforcement of these
codes and standards in the form of grievance and peer
review committees.
