(Mahwah)-- Palpable Painting, a group exhibition featuring paintings by faculty at colleges and other institutions in New Jersey and New York, will open in the Kresge and Pascal Galleries on the campus of Ramapo College Wednesday, September 13 and continue through October 19.

Recent group exhibitions featuring his work include Nice Weather, curated by David Salle, Skartstedt Gallery, New York (2016); Spaced Out: Migration To The Interior, curated by Phong Bui, Red Bull Studios, New York (2014); I was a double, curated by Ian Berry and David Lang, The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York (2014); and Submarine Wharf — XXXL Painting, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam (2013).

Featured works span global cultures and artistic movements, and include prints by Georges Braque, Andy Warhol, Leonard Baskin, Ay - O, Alex Katz, and Takashi Murakami; photographs by Andres Serrano, Mary Ellen Mark, Maria Magdalena Campos - Pons, Jacqueline Hayden, Michael Starkman (Amherst College Class of 1974), and Sandra Matthews; and paintings by Robert Priseman, Sarah Berman, and Mark Baum.

Presented in two concurrent parts (at Bard College's Center for Curatorial Studies [CCS], along with a two - work Manhattan component titled «Small Things,» installed in a Chelsea parking lot), the show featured a few early works — a pair of unassuming paintings, a modest brass sculpture, and an early neon — that give no hint of the raucousness to come.

Through Dec. 14, 2014 Wilfredo Lam at McMullen Museum, Boston College Boston «Imagining New Worlds» considers Afro - Cuban artist Wilfred Lam as a global figure whose work straddled several artistic movements and features works on paper and more than 40 paintings — many of his most acclaimed together for the first time.

Florida Atlantic University's Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters will host the opening of «POUR,» an exhibition featuring nine contemporary artists whose abstract works explore paint's liquidity, on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at the Schmidt Center Gallery, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.

Born in 1930, Ayres studied at Camberwell College of Art between 1945 and 1950 and worked initially in London and then to Cornwall where she currently lives.Ayres» first solo exhibition was at Gallery One in 1956, and her work has featured in many key group shows since, including the Whitechapel Art Gallery's seminal British Painting in the 60s in 1965.

The John Moores award - winning British painter Rose Wylie will be the subject of «History Painting», a new multi-site exhibition at Plymouth Arts Centre and The Gallery at Plymouth College of Art, featuring a cycle of new work about the Mayflower voyage, created for this exhibition between 2015 and 2017.

Triptych has been featured in three major retrospective exhibitions of Tworkov's work including Jack Tworkov: Paintings 1950 - 1978, Third Eye Centre, Glasglow; Jack Tworkov: Fifteen Years of Painting, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, NY; and Jack Tworkov: Beyond Black Mountain College, Selected Works from 1952 - 1982, Asheville Art Museum, NC.

For instance, one painting known as College Fund features a small model of a taxi cab resting on a suitcase with a tip jar filled with coins in the backseat as the shadow reflects onto the wall, while a similar piece titled Freedom Rider depicts a child's bicycle with one wheel in the front, and two wheels in the back, with an American flag sticking out from the backseat.

BOOKSHELF «Alma Thomas» documents the exhibition organized by the Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College and the Studio Museum in Harlem, and expands beyond what was presented at the museums, featuring more than 125 vibrant, colorful paintings and works on paper, many published for the first time.

The expo will draw more than 40 college teams from all over the country to showcase the future of sustainable technology and will feature exhibits like generation of ethanol from coffee production wastewater and entrenching small glass spheres in house paint to deflect heat in the summer.
