Oh, and you don't need to teach Simple
Comments what
spam is, we've already taken care of that for you.
In the early days of blogging I followed several that
did not, and eventually there was more
spam and angry / crazy people than there was legitimate
comments.
Keep writing,
commenting on other blogs, and posting your posts on social media sites (without
spamming them), and you will
do well with blogging.
(and please don't
spam comments with «how
did the universe start, where
did it all come from».
A site whose
comments are open is a rare thing (as long as you don't get ooodles of
spam offering strange and amazing growth results for minimal outlay....)
We
do have some problems with
comments getting stuck in our
spam filter (and with thousands of
spam comments each week, some
comments are unfortunately simply lost).
Believe me when I say that I knocked on plenty of doors & no one responded (one even removed my query from the
comment section, I was quite bewildered as it wasn't
spam & I didn't know why she would
do that).
Your readers will also think you don't care if you allow
spam to remain in your
comments — so be vigilent!
I think it
does that to screen out
spam comments.
Comments are now moderated due to
spam overload and have to be approved (by me)- so don't worry if your
comment does not appear immediately after you publish it.
That
does not include profanity, poor spelling and grammar, personal attacks, off - topic
comments, hostility disguised by sarcasm, and
spam.
So don't bother coming back to The Lunch Tray as your
comments will go directly to a
spam filter where neither I nor my readers will see have to see them.
Another thing — we don't accept
spam, rude
comments or nasty language, so common in many other forums.
btw sorry I
do nt know why all my
comments are being caught in the
spam filter!.
Weirdly, these two examples link to sites that don't seem to exist, so I'm not quite sure what their purpose is — normally,
spam comments try to send traffic to fake blogs («splogs») that make money through Google Ads or other contextual advertising.
Bonus points go to campaigns that leave «tips» or
comments on the discussion boards at various locations; but don't
spam.
While this policy helps keep the
spam under control, it doesn't exactly make for live conversation, particularly if I'm off gallivanting around instead of checking my email to see if new
comments have arrived.
Please
do not put your personal blog or business website URL in the
comment text unless it directly contributes to the
comment and / or the conversation taking place, as it will cause your
comment to be marked as
spam and most likely deleted, or edited to conform to these guidelines.
Comments that don't contribute to the conversation, are obviously
spam, promotional in nature, or intended for back - link purposes will be deleted and the author banned from future
commenting ability.
Visitors may send communications and submit suggestions, ideas,
comments, questions, or other information, so long as the content is not illegal, obscene, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing of intellectual property rights, or otherwise injurious to third parties or objectionable and
does not consist of or contain software viruses, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, chain letters, mass mailings, or any form of «
spam.»
I'd rather not
spam the
comments with the link so
do you have an email I can send it to you?

spam comments — why don't you delete them?

I had noticed that a few of your
comments had ended up in the
spam folder but I took them out so I
did see them and respond to them.
SPAM;
comments that push a link but don't add to the

Other blog owners will dismiss a
comment as
spam based on the fact that the link
does not match the same industry as their blog.

does is add what's known as a «CAPTCHA», mostly used on contact forms to eliminate email and
comment spam.

comment spam coming into this blog has really been on the rise, and the word verification feature
does not seem to be slowing it down very well.
The
spam filter usually
does a wonderful job in filtering out
comments but some
do get through.
Did you know Facebook has a tool to help stop
spam and trolling
comments from ever hitting your Facebook page at all?
If you post a
comment and it doesn't appear on the blog and you don't hear from me, then please e-mail me — your
comment might have gotten caught by the
spam filter.

did a longish
comment with a number of links in it -
do comments like that get screened to make sure they aren't full of
spam?

done by a regular person or a bot, it's not going to fly in our
comments.
Half of my
comment isn't directed at you, and you don't seem to know what the meaning of

Plus I could name about 10 people on the SWTOR forums that
spam 90 % of the
comments deepthroating every thing keith says too,

comment, accrediting myself, but that got deleted, twice and flagged as
Spam.

What I really don't understand is touched on by a
comment from someone (that I can't find now because of all the
spam) about cap - and - trade being suited to your idea.
Why
do the FUD purveyors feel as if they must
spam comment threads?
