common core state standards,» design a teacher evaluation plan based in part on the performance of their students, ensure «successful conditions for high - performing charter schools,» and numerous other reforms (see «Results of President Obama's Race to the Top,» research, Fall 2015).
Whereas students in the past may have read something, then moved immediately to
write personal responses and narratives, the
Common Core pushes them and their teachers to stay with the text — to use the author's words and other evidence within the text to answer questions and to support
analysis.
In the
