Hall, the Los Angeles
County Museum of Art, and Subliminal Projects, the
gallery was shortlisted as a site for «where, when and what to do on one of the hottest cities on the planet, Los Angeles, the City of Angeles.»
In 2003, the Saatchi
Gallery re-opened at
County Hall with a Damien Hirst retrospective, which included the exhibition of his refurbished piece, The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living, a shark in a tank of formaldehyde.
Jit Chauhan, chief executive of Cadogan Leisure Investments, Danova's landlords at
County Hall, said: «I am very disappointed that after forcing us to take court proceedings the Saatchi
Gallery has once again failed to observe its legal obligations.
It is part of the New Blood exhibition, which opens at the Saatchi
Gallery at
County Hall in London on March 23.
While many have fond memories of Saatchi's Boundary Road
gallery (he hosted exhibitions by the likes of Cy Twombly, Richard Serra and Jeff Koons as well as the YBAs), not many have good memories of
County Hall.
As Saatchi himself wrote in the book that was published to mark his
gallery's (ill - fated, it turns out) move to the «malign»
County Hall: «Abandoned warehouses, empty office buildings, disused shops, failed hair salons and ex-bookmakers across south and east London suddenly began filling with art that was headbuttingly impossible to ignore.»

Charles Saatchi is moving his eponymous London art
gallery out of its
County Hall premises following an «endless campaign of petty unpleasantness» by its landlord, it was announced today.
A spokesman for Cadogan said after the hearing that ever since the Saatchi
gallery moved to
County Hall, it had been a «challenging» tenant.

Some art world observers have speculated that Saatchi's new
gallery seeks to rival the Tate Modern, the huge and highly successful contemporary art center that opened in 2000 in a former power plant downstream from
County Hall.
