residency in the southeastern U.S.. His
research and works engage with the physical and olfactory properties of tobacco and provide a critique of the multinational tobacco markets, labor issues and

Artist
residency programs assist working artists to develop their specific skills, connect within global
cultural networks, earn exposure for their
research and practice, and share their expertise with locals and other creatives.
During her
residency at CCS Bard, Christel will be working on her
research concerning questions of art and curating as alternative sites for knowledge production, as well as teaching a series of seminars in which she will zoom in on the strategies artists and
cultural producers have applied over the years to counter or confound established ideas and systems of knowledge.
The
residency program, facilitated between 89plus and the Google
Cultural Institute, and now in its fifth session, welcomes participants from around the globe to conduct
research, realise new work and meet with key artists, technologists and curators.

The Studio Lab Curatorial
Residency provides curators and
cultural workers with
research, development, production, and exhibition space and resources.
In 2017, she was awarded three high - profile scholarships — the Freedman Foundation Traveling Scholarship, The Ian Potter
Cultural Trust Grant and the Copyright Agency IGNITE Career Fund Grant — to undertake a series of overseas mentorships and
residencies related to her
research of ritual and architecture.
As part of the joint
residency programme, the exhibition will be accompanied by
research, production and
cultural exchange through educational sessions.
She has received
residencies from the Lower Manhattan
Cultural Council's Extended Life Dance Development Program (2015 - 17), collective address, Yaddo, MacDowell Colony, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Movement
Research, and internationally at DanceHouse (Ireland), and at SKITE (France).
Just as we come from across national,
cultural, material and conceptual boundaries our student body includes recent graduates, mid-career artists, writers, teachers and thinkers who come to Transart Institute to expand their points of view and invigorate their practice by participating in intensive immersive
residencies including workshops and seminars, presentation and critique, peer dialogue and debate and becoming part of an international artistic
research community.
Intending to generate new collaborations with artists, curators, museums, and
cultural centers in the area, this award will cover curatorial
residencies, studio visits, and / or archival
