By far the best article I have ever read on this site, there was no bias or empty statements, just cold hard facts, the writer even respected wengers budget but still pointed to where he should've improved, there are no excuses, what you read is literrally all u get with arsene, if you gave him a budget of 9m or 1 billion, he will ALWAYS take the risk cause he doesn't give a fk about the consequences as if he was a teenager raging through puberty, his stubborn is absolutely pathetic, can you believe he turned down signing a keeper when almunia was shocking, can you believe he didn't sign a CB when squillaci was awful, can you believe that he REFUSED to sign a CDM for almost 8 years, CAN you believe on one of the most important transfer windows of arsenals history, arsene decided to go host charity matches in rome, that's right instead of trying hard for the fans that have respected him and pay him one of the highest managerial wages in the world, he decided to do what he pleased as usual, cause he doesn't answer to anyone, nor does he giving a flying fk, gazidis a man i thought was also a crook went and did arsene's job for him and at least got us a striker (which cost us the title in january last season) and arsene foolishly proclaims that «if i was here we wouldn't of signed danny» meaning we wouldn't of had ANY recognised cf till giroud recovered, arsene wenger is a joke of the highest order, lack of respect, lack of shame and lack order, i despise him
Giroud is red carded for seeming to have head butted a player but ferdinand has a right to strangle him and get away with it... and finally when will wenger ever get his tactics right???? remove an attacker replace them with a «defender» = come and press us... we lost points at liverpool and he still does that the next game

Weenger needs to get his team and tactics right and the players need to implement it, but if the Gunners do emerge victorious, could it be the second big turning point in this title race?
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
But this is the reality right now and in one weeks time every single player and fan must be urging our players to do their very best to get all three points and close the gap on our opponents at the top of the table.
I mean defenders getting forward during open play and not set pieces, who would have ever imagined the likes of Nigel Winterburn and Stuart Pearce «breezing» past players on the wings, overlapping midfielders and producing pint point and precise crossing to the strikers up front or even better yet taking on defenders and scoring... Doesn't sound right to the ear, doesdoes it?
It is up to Arsenal to make the most of any slip ups by our Premier League rivals of course, and after slipping back into third place, even though we are only behind Man City on goal difference, means that we will need to do better than them and Leicester City for the rest of the season, while the run of results from our north London rivals has brought Tottenham right up to just two points behind us and got people talking about them as genuine title contenders.
Wenger himself doesn't want to spend all in the name of «I have not got the right quality in the market, the prices are way above their actual valuation» etc. but even if he does buy, it's difficult to believe anything could easily change at the moment because he doesn't have guts to point fingers at players who even make serial mistakes e.g. xhaka in three consecutive games, his three mistaken passes have resulted into three goals which I doubt a coach like maurinho can tolerate.
i just think the team is to unbalanced playing Ramsay on the right were he spends most of his time in the middle is ridiculous leaving our right back exposed especially when you have the ox and Walcott on the bench and whose fault is it that the team is unbalanced the man who picks the team it does not matter if we get a world class striker if we keep playing players out of position anyway on to Newcastle next hope we get the 3 points COYG
Having said that, the boss has been very pleased with the desire and determination to win that the Gunners have been showing this season, so he is not getting at the players, just trying to ensure that they keep doing the things that have got us right in the title race up to this point.
yep and @ozgunner and @rkw i do nt see why it angers and agitates you so much when i insult fans who abuse wenger, look i am not the kind of naive guy who thinks everybody should be nice to eachother of course that would be nice, but when i hate some opinions of some people i do get annoyed a lot of times and i do show it and its truth i am not a supporter of the belief that one has to respect all opinions equally because i am firm believer that there are dump opinions for example when a conservative talks about homophob things i am pretty sure that i will insult him and some will say its wrong and will say its right its your opinion but back to your point..
The Gunners do not go to Anfield until March but hopefully when we do it will be in a good position to challenge for the title and with the right game plan to get at least a point, and if Wenger was as impressed by United's clever tactics as Keown we might see someone like Coquelin or Xhaka detailed with keeping their playmaker Coutinho quiet.
i personally don, t care, some fans think we should have won the pl i agree this was a good opportunity missed but there are reasons why the other big guns failed this season, maureen lost the dressing room and was fired, man city decided to announce a new manager, united few years ago decided to hire the wrong manager for the club, liverpool decide to succumb to the fans / media pressure and changed manager... it just shows that it all comes down to how a club is run so arsenal should be given credits for running the club the way they do (don, t get me wrong all is not perfect) they could have decided to sack wenger due to pressure but didn, t, wenger despite his flaws & the team going through a difficult patch partly due to injuries managed to keep the players on board and steer us to 2nd place, my point is that winning the pl is not a given right and i truly believe than this time around arsene heard the discontent fans and will make the signings necessary, COYG!!
You're right, and I'm getting the feeling that things are changing, but the other point to realise is that these players could be useful to us — rather than sending the first team off to some remote part of the world, to battle in the Europa, and turn up here, worse for wear on Sunday, we could use these players to do that.
He just hasn't been the same since he's got back from injury, not sure if it has anything to do with the awful haircuts, and what we should expect next from him — a Gerry Francis mullet, or possibly he'll shave his hair off on top and have a Bob Charlton comb - over, it all points to his head not being in the right place.
I disagree that Theo should be used as a RW anymore, Theo doesn't do enough defensivly out on the right and that can cost us points, I like Bellerin but I would prefer the player ahead of him to also get back and defend like Alexis does.
The French striker will come under criticism for his two efforts which were both placed off target, but the fact that he managed to create the space and get into the right position to get those chances is more than PEA did at any point of the game.
Perhaps we're clutching at straws somewhat, as Chelsea dropping points in this fixtures does look extremely unlikely, but in football anything is possible and if West Brom can interrupt the flow of play, get right in their faces and give them something to think about with some snappy breaks out of defence then who knows.
It was crucial for MU to get off on the right foot in this match if they wanted to grab all three points, and Alba's sure - footed blast definitely did that.
The tackle on diaby was bad and arsenal players are really unlucky at the moment but i say this with no ill will i read roy keans book and he said» When you come to play MU and you wanted to play football we play football but if you came to kick and fight we will kick and fight» and thats the point arsenal are a soft touch every one knows this why when viera and co where present people did not try all this physical abuse that arsenal get now your team must be a combination of both skill and physical presents it is the managers duty to get this right.
The second was for a penalty call on Koscielny for a tackle on Long which was not a penalty in any shape or form apart from the views of some jaundiced pundits (I did point out in my preview that if you were inclined to put on a bet it might be on Arsenal not being given a penalty, on Arsenal to draw or lose, and for disallowed Arsenal Goals, so I got two of the three right).
It can be quite distracting (or amusing) to debate the issue with people like Tom who usualy see or choose to interperet something different to real events — but that is not important — the important point is that the refs need to get the decisions right in real time — they are not doing that and the denial of the aid of technology by the PGMO is incomprehensible.
Further, it's gotten to the point where any comment made in support of an argument made by the right is labeled racist, etc., as if someone in a political position one doesn't share can never be right about anything (a problem shared by both those on the left and right).
people want to stuck in the belief that everything they do for their child is perfectly right that they get so angry when someone points out a better way.
