That is how I feel about the fact that Vigil Games, developers of
the Darksiders IP, were not bought in the auction THQ held two days ago.
Crytek might be looking into picking up
the Darksiders IP.
No word on the current status of Vigil Games and
their Darksiders IP.
The lack of interest in Vigil Games or
its Darksiders IP has left question marks over the future of the studio, although it still remains up for sale as part of THQ's Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
No bids were placed on either the game or the developers, and so Vigil Games shut down and
the Darksiders IP seemingly died alongside them.
Adding a little extra weight is Vigil Game's co-founder and now Crytek employee Ryan Stefanelli, who confirmed the idea when Destructoid asked him about it: «When
the Darksiders IP goes up for auction, Crytek will be bidding for it,» he said.
Is it possible that we could see
the Darksiders IP and a chunk of the Vigil Games staff get taken onboard Platinum Games?
It would certainly be interesting to see
the Darksiders IP in the hands of Platinum.

In April of this year Nordic Games spent $ 5 - million to acquire a vast number of THQ's
IPs, and while they've yet to really lay the foundations for their plans going forward, Reinhard Pollice, who handles Nordic's business and product development, did reveal some interesting snippets of information regarding what is arguably the companies most important acquirement:
Darksiders.
Currently rumours are flying around to exactly what companies bought which developers and which
IPs from them, but one thing that we do know for certain is that Vigil Games, creators of the
Darksiders series, hasn't been picked up by anybody, left to go down with the ship, and with them hopes of ever seeing
Darksiders III.
