As I go back to three
meals a
day I've been really craving
soup, probably because it's light and feels so energising.
Long after the Seder
meals are done, the only thing that will still appeal
days later, will be this
soup.

I aim for
soup at least three times a
day at
meals, which means we're all getting around a cup of stock in, as well as a cup of plain stock before and between
meals for 3 - 4 more cups a
day.
Speaking of lunch,
soup is a great alternative to sandwiches for your second
meal of the
day.
Make this
soup or some other of your favourite recipes some
days and go ahead and join me in my unorthodox
meals of sandwiches and smoothies for those
days you just can't get it all together.
I will have the flaxseed oil in a
meal of
soup later in the
day.
It makes a great
soup recipe to throw together on the stove with any leftovers from your New Year's
Day meal of baked ham, turnip, mustard or collard greens, and just a few more additions to the
soup pot.
The
soup can be made ahead of time, or even if you make a double batch a few
days before, this can be a
meal made from the leftovers after you've already enjoyed mushroom
soup for a couple
days.
It was also dished up on a night when we were eating at different times, so I prepped the
soup portion of the
meal early in the
day, cooked the pasta separately and tossed it with olive oil to prevent sticking, and then kept it at room temperature until it was time to eat.
There's very few things that I will eat for a
meal the second
day (except for these
soups and this pasta).
The end result was so delicious, really a special
soup — we ate it for every
meal, I think, and finished it all in one
day.
Other mainstays on the menu include main dishes, which are the chef's specially prepared
meals made with fish of the
day; shellfish platters;
soups, which include both Manhattan - and New England - style clam chowder; raw bar; cold buffet; cooked shellfish; and desserts.
Try cold
soups instead of cooking a
meal — they are light, and fast and easy to make, but most importantly they are cold, and feel so good going down, on a hot
day:
Most times that I make
soup it's either because I have fresh vegetables that need to be used up before they wilt and go bad — or — I'm too busy to make a fancier
meal that
day and just want a one pot wonder to fill me up with good tasting, good for me ingredients.
Soup is a favorite winter
meal of mine — a big hot bowl of
soup on a cold
day is just so warm and comforting!
Almost every single week I try to make a huge pot of
soup that'll last me a couple of
days, they're my go to prep
meal!
Gone are the
days of instant ramen and frozen
meals, which have been replaced by single serving fried rice, lasagna, and
soup dishes.
This isn't just a veggie
soup, it's a hearty
meal to warm up with on a chilly winter's
day!
I had leftover carrot
soup over quinoa as my last
meal before 6 pm in preparation for the purification
days.

soup can be made a
day or two in advance, making your life that much easier when its time to serve this delight up for a dinner party or a cozy
meal with the family.
